Diversity & Disability Fellowship Program

The CED is recruiting graduate and professional students to participate in the Disability & Diversity Fellowship Program who are pursuing careers working with individuals with disabilities. A graduate student from a diverse background will be awarded an assistantship starting in the fall semester and continuing through the spring of 2019. This fellowship pays $6,500 for the two semesters paid bi-weekly

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Enroll in two Disability Studies courses taught through WVU
  • Participate in clinic/observational experiences and other training opportunities
  • Complete a 60 hour hands-on volunteer and capstone project

To be eligible for this fellowship graduate and professional level students must be from diverse backgrounds, must be U.S. Citizens and meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be from racial and/or ethnic minority backgrounds
  • Have limited English proficiency,
  • Be from underserved geographic areas (rural or urban),
  • Have a disability
  • Identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender

The WVU Research Corporation seeks to hire a full-time (40hpw), benefits eligible, MODIFY Survey Specialist for the WVU Center for Excellence in Disabilities based out of the DHHR Diamond Building in Charleston, WV. This position will develop and maintain connections with current and former foster youth in order to perform administration of the National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD) Survey to foster and former foster care youth ages 17-21.
