Call for proposals: Mountain State Conference on Disabilities

Submit by October 2, 2026 for consideration at the conference on April 15-17, 2027.

The Mountain State Conference on Disabilities (MSCD) Planning Committee is actively seeking proposals for short courses, workshops, and poster sessions from individuals with disabilities, caregivers/family members, researchers, professionals, and students. Presentations would take place during the MSCD at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, WV on April 15-17, 2027.

This conference focuses on the practices in the field of disabilities (including but not limited to, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism, traumatic brain injury, mental health, etc.), as well as techniques and models of service for individuals from birth to senior and their families. This conference will also highlight the lived experiences of people with disabilities, as well as caregivers and family. Sessions will be geared towards the following audiences: self-advocates; people with lived experience; family, siblings, and caregivers; students; professionals including direct service providers, therapists, and medical providers; educators; policy makers; and researchers. All presentations and posters presented at the conference will be published on the West Virginia University Research Repository website.
